Summer Social Skills Group for Teens
Westover Hills
San Antonio, Texas
This summer, we are offering two twice-weekly summer groups to help neurodivergent teens build confidence, make friends, and practice real-world social skills.
Session 1: June 2 – June 27 (Tue & Thu)
Session 2: July 7 – August 1 (Tue & Thu)
Our Summer Social Skills Group is for neurodivergent teens ages 13–17 who want to grow their communication skills, learn how to work with others, and feel more comfortable in social settings. Teens do not need an autism diagnosis to join—this group is open to teens with ADHD, anxiety, learning differences, or any neurodivergent profile. Each session includes games, group discussions, and fun activities led by trained behavior experts. Teens will learn how to join conversations, follow group routines, and connect with peers in a safe, supportive space.

Who Can Join?
This group is a great fit for teens ages 13–17 who want help with things like starting conversations, making and keeping friends, joining group activities, or handling changes in routine. It’s also helpful for teens who may feel anxious in social situations or who struggle to pick up on social cues.
We’re looking for participants who can speak in full sentences, follow group rules, and take care of their own bathroom and snack needs. Teens should be able to sit for short group lessons, move between activities with a little help, and be safe around others.
If your teen needs one-on-one support or often has strong outbursts, let’s chat to see if this group is the right fit right now.
What Will We Do?
Each week, we’ll focus on:
-
Goal Setting & Self-Awareness
Teens will explore their strengths and interests, complete fun self-discovery activities like “All About Me” worksheets, and learn how to set realistic short- and long-term goals using tools like SMART goal planning. -
Building Confidence & Self-Advocacy
Through role-plays and social scenarios, teens will practice expressing their needs, understanding their social identity, and learning how to speak up for themselves in respectful and effective ways. -
Conversation & Perspective-Taking
Teens will engage in games and group activities that help them start and maintain conversations, take turns, and consider how others might think or feel in social situations. -
Emotional Regulation & Coping Skills
Teens will identify their emotions and triggers, learn self-monitoring techniques, and create a personalized coping “toolbox” using the Zones of Regulation framework. -
Teamwork & Problem Solving
Teens will work in small groups to complete creative challenges, play games that require flexibility, and learn how to resolve social conflicts by seeing things from different points of view. -
Real-World Planning & Reflection
Teens will use planners and checklists to track goals, break down tasks into steps, and prepare for a final “Social Success Showcase” where they reflect on what they’ve learned and celebrate their progress with peers.
Led by Experts
The group is led by trained behavior experts, including a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs). They’ll help guide each teen in a safe, caring way.
