The growing number of families with children on the autism spectrum has increased in the last few years. In 2020, the CDC reported that 1 in 44 children are diagnosed with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). In order to address this growing need for autism therapy, the Little Spurs Autism Center (LSAC) will open in early 2022 to provide ABA therapy to the San Antonio community.
Sarah Powell, M. Ed., BCBA, LBA, a longtime San Antonio resident and University of Texas graduate, will be the clinical director for the center.
“I am so excited to get to work in our center and work with the families of San Antonio! My focus will be on ensuring positive interactions for our clients and our employees by building a strong supportive company culture! I look forward to creating a place where people enjoy being and where ongoing training is a norm. I hope to not only see our clients grow and progress, but our employees as well! ” she said.
The mission at LSAC is to positively impact the lives of individuals with autism and their caregivers through compassionate, collaborative, and person-centered ABA Therapy (autism therapy). With a high emphasis on staff training, LSAC will also provide parent education sessions, ARD/IEP Assistance, and ongoing assessments for their clients.
LSAC will be located at 24200 IH-10 Frontage Road in Leon Springs, TX. They will provide both center-based and home-based therapy and can see children up through the age of 21 years old. LSAC will accept most private insurances, including BCBS. For more information, please email autism@littlespurs.com.
